The Warrior Diet is a fitness and eating routine that involves intermittent fasting. It’s very similar to the Herschel Walker Fast that we spoke about previously.
The diet was developed by Ori Hofmekler and popularized the book he wrote of the same name in 2007. The exercise routine involves what the author calls Controlled Fatigue Training and recommends continuing to work out after the body is tired to trigger a fight or flight response. After the workout there is a feeding phase in which calories are not counted, but food is restricted to organic natural foods.
The best review I came across of the diet was written in this blog based on a month long trial. The blog author, Kenny, states that the best part of the diet was that he felt a sense of excitement that he hadn’t felt in years, and that alone made it worth it to him. Along the way he lost 8 lbs and gained a considerable amount of muscle strength, which he demonstrates through before and after pictures.
Keep in mind that I’m not endorsing this diet. I’m just trying to present you some alternative fasting routines to expand your knowledge base. I think the bottom line is that there are a lot of people out there trying and succeeding with fasting. And I think you can too.
